How to Join

The Guild of Scholars welcomes candidates who are deeply connected to the Episcopal tradition, participating regularly in the church’s worship, spiritual life, and community. We also recognize members of churches in full communion with the Episcopal Church as part of our broader community.

In addition to a strong Episcopal identity, candidates should be actively engaged in their scholarly or creative field. Whether through publications, conferences, exhibitions, performances, or other forms of public contribution, we value those who share their work with the world. A CV can help showcase this activity, but we also understand that scholarly work takes many forms—so feel free to explain your unique contributions if they don’t fit neatly into traditional categories.

Candidates are nominated by a current member or self-nominated and should be lay Episcopalians contributing meaningfully to their academic or creative disciplines. While the Guild is primarily a lay organization, we warmly welcome scholars who are laypersons, vocational deacons, or independent or retired professionals. If you’re curious about membership, we’d love to hear from you!
